Mass Save Heat Pumps Rebate Program

Homeowners can save a significant amount of money on their energy bills with a heat pump, and Mass Save has a program to help make the transition easier. The program offers a variety of options, including rebates up to $15,000 and a 7-year 0% interest HEAT Loan.

Rebates are available for new, high-efficiency air source and ground-source heat pumps. The program is designed to encourage homeowners to replace their existing oil, gas, or electric heating systems with these efficient options.

Getting Started

To get started, you must select an HVAC contractor mass save heat pumps that is a member of the Mass Save Heat Pump Installer Network (a list of qualified contractors can be found on the Mass Save website). They will complete a free home energy assessment and provide a detailed estimate of your project cost. They are required to have a license and insurance for their work.

The HVAC contractor will also help you determine your home’s cooling and heating needs to get an accurate estimate of the size of the system you need to meet them. They will then schedule an installation date.

A Mass Save HomeWorks Specialist can also assist you with obtaining financing for your heat pump, insulation, and other energy efficiency upgrades through the Mass Save HEAT Loan. Unlike a typical utility bill, a HEAT Loan is not based on your monthly income, but instead on the total cost of the project (including the discount or rebates).

Once you have selected an eligible contractor, they will come to your home for a free energy assessment. Once the evaluation is complete, they will give you a quote and a payment proposal.

They will take a look at your home’s insulation, water heater, and other components to make sure they are all working together in the most efficient way possible. If they find any issues, they will let you know how to address them.

After the contractor completes the weatherization project, they will provide you with an invoice for the work that has been done. You must have this invoice along with any dated paperwork from the weatherization project in order to submit your application for the rebate.

You can fill out the Mass Save Rebate Form online or print and complete a hard copy version of it. You can also have your contractor apply for the rebate on your behalf and deduct it from the total cost of the installation.

Once your application is approved, you will receive a notice within 30 days of the completion of your rebate. You will then have 60 days to submit your rebate form and any dated invoices.

The best part is that the majority of HVAC companies will be willing to handle the entire process for you, making the process seamless and stress-free. They are also experts in the energy efficient equipment they sell, so you can rest assured that your heat pump will be installed properly and safely.
